The Behavioral Health Care Advocate is responsible for providing mental health resources and/or benefit and referral information to members, as well as assessing for mental health stability and safety.
Candidates must be able to work a set schedule Monday - Friday between 10:00am - 7:30pm Central and a rotating holiday schedule based on business needs.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Due to business needs, residency and licensure in Missouri is preferred.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Focus on psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment for members
- Assist in determining appropriate levels of care
- Obtain information from members on outpatient requests for treatment
- Determine if additional clinical treatment sessions are needed
- Coordinate benefits and transitions between various areas of care

Required Qualifications:
- Licensed Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Counseling; Licensed Ph.D.; or RN with a compact license and 3 years of experience in Behavioral Health
- Active, unrestricted, clinical license in the state of residence that allows you to practice independently without supervision (e.g., LCSW, LICSW, LMFT, LMHC LP, LPC, LPCC, etc., or RN)
- 3 years of experience in a related mental health environment
- Crisis management, substance abuse, and mental health background
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- Demonstrated ability to talk on phone and navigate through computer screens simultaneously
- Access to install highspeed internet services at home and a distraction-free space for home office set up
- Ability to work a set schedule Monday - Friday between 10:00am - 7:30pm Central
- Ability to work rotating holidays based on business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Residency and licensure in Missouri
- Experience working at a Substance Abuse Treatment Center
- Experience in Crisis Counseling
- Experience Telemental Health Services
- Experience working in an environment that required coordination of benefits and utilization of multiple groups and resources for members
- Call center experience
- Facility-based experience (inpatient, residential, partial, outpatient)
- Dual diagnosis experience with mental health and substance abuse
- Background working with various age groups
