Job Description

About California Autism Center

The California Autism Center and Learning Group (CAC) was founded in 2014 with the intent to bring client-focused center-based ABA services to the Central Valley. Data supports a center-based model as the most effective method for treating children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Similar to in-home services, the center-based model still allows for individual treatment plans in addition to supplemental home and community-based services as needed. This model also provides more learning opportunities for clients and increased support for staff.
We are local company located in the heart of the Central Valley. We have Treatment Centers in Fresno, Merced and Visalia. Our focus is a team approach with positivity and perseverance.

What makes CAC great?

  • Behavioral Health Center of Excellence (BHCOE) accredited and distinction among ABA therapy providers.
  • A center-based autism center provider means no driving to clients' homes or losing hours due to cancellations.
  • Regular mentorship and opportunities for professional development.
  • A supportive environment focused on a work/life balance
Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) help children (ages between 18 months and six years old) who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder develop coping strategies through the use of a playful, positive environment to learn social, behavioral, and daily living skills to succeed in the classroom and the community. RBTs work in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis to shape clients' lives by evaluating, tracking progress, and collecting data to improve behavior.
Registered Behavior Technicians are evaluated quarterly for performance with the opportunity for merit increases each quarter. We are a growing company with expanding services in the Central Valley and one of the only providers in the region accredited by the BHCOE for quality ABA therapy. We can offer full-time (including medical benefits and paid time off) and part-time positions. Our Treatment Center's hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with no weekends, no evenings, and especially no driving!
Key Responsibilities:
  • A Behavior Technician works one-on-one with clients, collecting data on skill acquisition and seeking to reduce behavioral excesses. All data is collected on iPads.
  • A great candidate has a positive attitude, patience, and perseverance to make a difference in children's lives.
Reasons to work with us:
  • No-cost in-house RBT training with a 90% pass rate of the board certification exam (30-question proctored exam)
  • Each BT has a dedicated on-site supervisor with reliable supervisor presence and support.
  • Quarterly performance reviews, monthly meetings with your supervisor, regular team meetings, and team bonding activities.
  • We offer career growth opportunities beyond the RBT role, including training coordinators, case assistants, and case managers.
  • BCBA supervision for graduate students and ongoing supervision for maintaining RBT certification
  • Carry out evidence-based behavioral treatment plans designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to improve the lives of children.
  • Our dedicated training team ensures all new hires have a mentor to guide them to certification as a Registered Behavior Technician within 90 days.
If you are passionate about helping people with behavioral health conditions and have the qualifications we seek, please apply today!
Here are six reasons why Behavior Technicians should work for a BHCOE-accredited organization.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (college coursework in ABA, psychology, child development, or related field is a plus!).
  • A valid driver's license with valid proof of auto insurance and/or listed as a covered driver for the vehicle you'll use to commute. We are a center-based program, but some travel may be required for training and limited home sessions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and capability of using an Apple iPad daily to track data during sessions and communicate with team members.
  • Adept at working with special needs children.
  • Minimum of 16 hours of availability in four-hour blocks (Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM).
  • The ability to pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting.
  • The ability to provide an immunization record* with proof of TB test clearance
*Any candidate who cannot be vaccinated due to disability or sincerely held religious belief or practice should ask the recruiter for a reasonable accommodation form or waiver of some vaccinations.
Preferred Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, child development, speech and language pathology, or other related fields.
  • Previous experience working with children (ages infant to 16) in a classroom or 1:1 setting.
  • One year of experience in applied behavior analysis, using pivotal response training, discrete trial training, picture exchange communication system, etc., in a naturalist environment.
  • Bilingual in Hmong, Spanish, or American Sign Language.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (provided for free to all new hires!).
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).

Full compensation package are based on candidate experience and certifications.
