Behavior Specialist
Position:Behavior Specialist
The Hagedorn Little Village School, Jack Joel Center for Special Children, in Seaford, NY is a school for children with developmental disabilities ranging in age from 3 to 12 years.
Hours: M-F 8:00am-4:00pm
Position follows School Calendar (which includes a 6 week summer program)
This position would be for an immediate start.
Benefits and Compensation:
Salary range commensurate with experience: $65,000 to $75,000
Full benefits package available including medical/dental/vision plans, 403(b), sick/personal time, paid holidays
Educational Requirements:
- Applicant must possess a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Behavior Analysis, Special Education, School Psychology, or a related field of study. Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
- This position is responsible for conducting, implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of
Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP)
- Provide training, supervision, and behavioral support to teachers, therapists, and staff working with children with ASD and other developmental disabilities
- Provide classroom behavioral consultation services and assist in crisis intervention as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Conduct parent training and provide support to families as needed
Candidate will possess:
- A strong background in behavioral intervention as well as previous experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder and/or other developmental disabilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members. Experience with classroom supervision a plus.
- Exemplary verbal and written communication and organizational skills
- Bilingual a plus
