Bath Aide - Nursing Home

Today, Kittson Healthcare is a twelve-bed acute care federally designated Critical Access Hospital and fifty bed long term care facility which also includes a home healthcare agency, 8 bed assisted living facility and an ambulance service. There is a medical clinic located in the complex as well as a satellite medical clinic in Karlstad, Minnesota. CLOSE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH: STAFF NURSES, DON, DIETARY STAFF, HOUSEKEEPING STAFF, RESIDENTS AND RESIDENT FAMILY MEMBER(S)

The primary focus for the Bath Aide role will be to dedicate the highest level of bathing tasks for all residents. Tasks included but are not limited to, bathing, full grooming cares, and dressing/undressing. The Bath aide will also help with basic care needs including activities of daily living (ADLs) that may include, but are not limited to, toileting, feeding, appropriate transferring and providing psychosocial support and other personal care(s) to assigned resident or within scope, delegated tasks assigned by the DON.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Proficiently be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to work independently and be able to work effectively as a team member.
• Must be able to work with frequent interruptions, maintaining a high degree of concentration.
• Excellent Communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Possess problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of geriatric care and activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Familiarity with use of bathing products and equipment.
• Commitment to quality/infection control.
• Excellent time management of one’s own time and time of others.
• Ability to participate and self-educate for job related needs.
• Knowledge of charting, care plans, and shift schedule practices.
• Must possess ability to support, encourage and strive for excellent level of care, which accommodates each resident in the ability to be independent and promotes their overall well-being.
• Must have the ability to adapt to personalities of residents and/or coworkers and use tact in all forms of communication.
• Passion for customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Graduate or GED.
• 1-year general geriatric care experience (preferred)
• Current MN Certificated Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• Must pass MN background check, accompanied with figure printing.
• Complete TB test within the first 2 weeks of employment.

JOB SCHEUDLE/LOCATION(S):

• Hallock, MN
• Shift Schedule varied, based on needs of residents schedule
• Every third weekend and rotating holiday’s
• Nursing Home/Long-term care setting
