Baseball Operations Coordinator - All Ripken Games

Summary

As a successful Baseball Operations Coordinator, you will assist in organizing spring and summer programming at all our world-class facilities. The position will play an integral role in scheduling for all core lines of programming, operations of events, assisting in oversight of part-time operations staff, weekend sales, along with a wide variety of related duties and activities. This individual will be responsible for ensuring quality control surrounding all baseball/softball activities and to ensure our events exceed expectations.

Responsibilities

As our Operations Coordinator, you will:

• Execute all customer care and related communication for registered players
• Oversee the process of collecting necessary items from customers prior to event (and review to ensure completeness and accuracy) for tournament teams – leveraging the online registration platform for maximum efficiency
• Invoice and collect payment from customers as necessary
• Execute pre-event communication
• Monitor and evaluate all schedule requests made by players for events
• Produce schedules for approval by the Operations Manager
• Serve as on-site supervisor for events
• Oversee facility First Aid operations in terms of inventory and staffing levels
• Closely monitor all Baseball Operations related inventory
• Work closely with umpire assigners on related event needs and scheduling
• Assist in event sales efforts under the General Manager
• Assist as instructor and coach as necessary
• Ensure that sponsorship activities related to event are executed
• Assist in facilities operations, food and beverage, retail operations as needed
• Travel to all locations that host the All-Ripken Games

Qualifications

We require:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 1-2 years of experience working in sports business/operations or related field
• Solid understanding of youth baseball and tournament operations
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Positive approach to learning
• Strong work ethic
• Good planning, directing, and organizational skills
• Excellent customer service orientation to respond to needs of parents or coaches
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to supervise others
• Ability to work long extended hours and weekend/holidays as needed

We prefer:

• Bachelor’s degree in sports- or business-related field such as Sports Marketing, Management, or Instruction
• Former collegiate or professional baseball and/or softball experience
• Proven track record of leadership in a professional environment
• Sound knowledge of the game of baseball/softball and tournament operations
• Willingness to take on special projects and roles based on the needs of the company

Special Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

• Routinely required to work extended hours as dictated by business needs
• Physical ability to accomplish all tasks
• Routinely lift or move up to 50 pounds at least 20% of the time
• Routinely exposed to extreme hot/cold weather conditions, and dust/particles
