Responsibilities
- Always approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner by maintaining a positive demeanor.
- Promote a positive and caring work environment by addressing and resolving any conflict in a calm and poised manner.
- Engage and create a positive experience for guests.
- Greet guests and present menus.
- Seeing to the comfort of guests through answering questions, conveying special instructions to the kitchen and bar, and make suggestions based on their preferences.
- Take and serve food and drinks orders, up-selling when appropriate.
- Maintain knowledge of the menu and all specials.
- Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
- Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
- Deliver checks at the end of their meals and collect and handle payments.
- Cooperate and communicate with all serving and kitchen staff.
- Adhere to all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines.
- Maintain a friendly attitude, attending all guests in an efficient and prompt manner.
- Collect used dishes and utensils from tables and return them to the dishwashing area.
- Project a professional manner with an emphasis on hospitality and guest service.
- Maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working area along with awareness of all sanitary practices.
- Support other staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Adhering to safety and quality regulations.
- Handle guest complaints and solve problem to the degree possible.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of barista and customer service experience required, hospitality industry preferred.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, or scheduled form.
- Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English in order to communicate with guests and team members.
- Knowledge of reservation and POS systems.
- Ability to work with computers and good knowledge of operating software preferred.
- Must be able to multi-task and be detail oriented.
- Must be a team player.
