Job description

The Bartender/Bar Supervisor acts as an ambassador to The Lloyd Hotel’s Café/Bar, ensuring a positive brand image is strengthened and maintained in all interactions with customers and is responsible for ensuring the bar team efficiently prepares and serves all food, selected wines, and craft cocktails to specified standards. The Bartender/Bar Supervisor will serve customers and build rapport upholding a premium experience.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage inventory and bar operations.

· Oversee and assist with daily dining operations, as well as group functions and events.

· Adheres to proper alcohol handling, sanitation, and safety procedures, and maintains appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all beverage items.

· Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and standards.

· Coordinates daily supply inventory for bar and submits orders to supervisor; assists with receipt of deliveries.

· Monitor and manage Food inventory and order supplies as needed.

· Contributes to daily, holiday, and theme drink menus in collaboration with a supervisor.

  • Ensures smooth operation of bar services during the absence of Management.

· Train and supervise staff members, including bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff.

· Participates in and/or contributes to programs, committees, or projects designed to improve quality of service and employee productivity.

  • Make suggestions based on customers’ tastes and preferences.

· Maintain a presence in the dining room and around the Lobby to greet members and guests and ensure the highest level of service.

  • Welcoming and sitting diners comfortably in the dining section.

· Taking food and beverage orders and accurately entering them into the ordering system

  • Verify identification and age requirements of customers.
  • Serve drinks while maintaining a clean and sanitary bar area.
  • Mix traditional and signature/creative cocktails.
  • Prepares and maintains ingredients and garnishes provided in recipes.

· Communicating any food allergy or special nutrition needs to kitchen staff.

· Collaborating with the kitchen and bar staff for prompt and correct delivery of orders

  • Memorizing the menu and recommending appetizers, meals, and drinks from restaurant wine stock.

· Delivering a memorable dining experience by resolving all customer issues promptly, providing attentive service to diners, like refilling drinks as needed and checking their needs during meals.

  • Process payment from customers.
  • Assisting with the tidying of tables, clearing leftovers, and keeping the dining area neat and pleasant
  • Setting tables and rearranging the dining area to accommodate larger groups and prepare the restaurant for special events.
  • Be able to perform and complete all tasks and duties on the shift checklist in a timely and efficient manner such as, but not limited to:
  • PM lobby transition –
  • Dimming Lights in lobby/bar area
  • Lighting tea lights at all tables
  • Increase music volume to 65%
  • Change Pandora music stations to “lighthouse radio” station.

· Ensuring cooking utensils and kitchen area are cleaned after closing to comply with state regulations.

· Performing some cleaning duties, such as at the service station, around the kitchen and in the dining area

· Manage and record daily sales utilizing Agylysis POS system.

Skills/Requirements:

· Working knowledge of all aspects of the food & beverage service industry, including both Front of House and Back of House experience

· Professional demeanor, good work ethic and team mentality

· Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices

· Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong communication skills, great active listening skills

· Willing to work flexible work schedules that include nights and weekends.

· Physically able to be on their feet for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.
