Bar Manager for High-Volume Casual Dining Restaurant

Position Overview:

MONDAY RESTAURANT & BAR is seeking an experienced Bar Manager to oversee the operation of our bustling, high-volume, bar at a mostly outdoor, casual dining restaurant.

This position demands a blend of creativity, efficiency, and leadership to maintain the highest level of service and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing bar inventory, scheduling employees, crafting innovative drink menus, and possessing hands-on bartending experience suited for a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Inventory Management: Implement and maintain a comprehensive inventory system for all beverages. Regularly audit stock levels, order supplies, negotiate with suppliers, and minimize waste to ensure cost-effectiveness.

- Scheduling: Prepare and manage schedules for all bar staff to ensure optimal staffing levels during peak and off-peak hours, taking into account budget constraints and forecasted volumes.

- Menu Creation: Design and regularly update the drink menu, incorporating both classic and innovative offerings that align with the restaurant’s theme and client preferences. Conduct market research to introduce new and trending beverages that enhance the dining experience.

- Staff Training and Supervision: Hire, train, and oversee a competent and enthusiastic bar team. Provide ongoing training on bartending techniques, customer service, and responsible alcohol service. Conduct performance evaluations and manage any staff-related issues professionally.

- Bartending:Engage in bartending duties, especially during peak hours or when short-staffed, demonstrating expert mixology skills, speed, and an ability to maintain an excellent rapport with guests.

- Maintaining Standards: Ensure the bar’s operation complies with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding liquor, health, and safety. Uphold the restaurant's standards for quality, service, and cleanliness.

- Customer Service: Foster a welcoming atmosphere and ensure guest satisfaction. Handle guest complaints with professionalism and a focus on positive outcomes.

- Promotions and Marketing:Collaborate with the management team to create effective promotions and events that attract and retain customers, increase sales, and enhance the dining experience.

- Operational Efficiency: Continually assess and optimize operational procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Manage the bar budget, analyze financial reports, and implement strategies to increase profitability.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Bar Manager or similar role in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

- Extensive knowledge of mixology, beverage trends, and proper handling, storage, and sanitation of alcohol.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.

- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with a knack for thriving in a dynamic environment.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Proficiency in inventory management software and standard office applications.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

- Bartending certification or relevant training; knowledge of responsible alcohol service laws.

- A minimum of 3 years of bartending experience, with at least 1 year in a managerial role.
