Position Overview:
Serving two separate counties - Santa Barbara & Los Angeles, we are looking to hire Bar Backs/event assistants to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who is looking for well-paid part time work in a fun environment with flexible hours. In addition, you will have the opportunity to learn first-hand about modern mixology and bartending from some of the most elite bartenders in CA.
Responsibilities:
As an event bar-back, you will be assisting with setting up event spaces, as well as supporting our bartenders with anything they may need before, during, and after the event.
- Unload equipment such as mobile bars, alcohol, beer, wine, tools, etc.
- Setup glassware, bars, stations, etc.
- Organize glass racks, back ups, equipment, and bar supplies.
- Chilling wine, beer and Champagne.
- Prep fruit garnishes, fill up juice bottles, setup products, supplies and tools.
- Refill syrups & mixers, restock fruit caddies and bar supplies during the event.
- Wipe bar surface areas and make sure that bars looks clean and photo-ready.
- Empty trash & burn used ice, and support bartenders during the event.
- Assist bartenders with transitioning from one bar to another.
- Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist and/ or complete additional tasks as assigned.
- Work varied shifts to include days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Qualifications:
- 21+ years of age.
- Valid US driver's license, with clean driving record.
- Reliable means of transportation
- Proper lifting techniques.
- Ability to communicate effectively and assertively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with staff, clients, and the public- Previous bar/restaurant experience is preferred but required.
- Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Ability to push and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Work indoors and/or outdoors, exposed to hot and/or cold surfaces, steam, and wet floors
- Ability to communicate effectively via email, phone, text.
- Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision.
PREVIOUS BAR/RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
