Job Objective The purpose of the Banquet Server position is to interact with our guests and to ensure they have a positive experience while attending any event, at any Live+Love+Léal property. Banquet Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient matter. Servers are expected to be attentive to our guests needs and make them feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed. Banquet servers will follow through with the proper and timely setup and tear down of each event. They will assist with maintaining all equipment and facilities in an organized, clean, and safe environment.

Essential Job Functions

• Review the banquet event form (BEO) at the beginning of each shift to ensure they know what is going to be served
• Greet guests warmly with an appropriate greeting 
• Assist in ensuring that the events are running according to the event timeline
• Maintain high standards for safety and cleanliness in all areas of the property
• Maintain proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, removing courses, replenishing items and refilling glasses
• Communicate any areas of need, problems and concerns from a guest to the Event Manager
• Assist other banquet servers with maintenance (side work duties) as necessary
• Familiar with the different various types of food service – Buffet, Plated, Family-style
• Keep equipment in order and stored in designated area
• Drive company golf carts, at appropriate speed and with caution
• Provide guests with a positive and memorable experience
• Being a team player is essential
• Practice safe working habits and take their appropriate breaks and meal periods in a timely manner

Required Education and Experience

•  Must be flexible and available to work a varying schedule to include weekends, evenings, holidays, split shifts 
• Must possess and maintain a valid California Food Handler Certificate
• Must possess and maintain a valid California Responsible Beverage Serving Certificate
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills required. Communicate professionally in person and on the phone
• Maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance in compliance with the dress code
• Must be able to use time tracking software and point-of-sale (POS) system
• Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in high pressure situations
• Ability to anticipate customer and server needs and respond appropriately
• Ability to work in a team environment, work cohesively with co-workers and perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with company policies

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

The Banquet Server will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, bend, push, pull and work a flexible schedule, must be able to move continuously during work hours. Other physical requirements include:

• Must be able to move about a large restaurant and patio area for long periods of time carrying trays and other items
• May be in indoor or outdoor setting, dependent on event location
• Varied weather conditions are expected
• Ability to hear and speak to communicate with guests
• Close and distance vision • Identify and distinguish colors
• Frequent walking and standing with some sitting at times
• Frequently lifts/carries up to 15 pounds
• Occasionally lifts/carries up to 40 pounds
• Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills
• Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel, stoop or crouch repeatedly
• Must wear face coverings and safety glasses and other personal protection equipment as mandated by county and state public health officials
