SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
Banquet Servers are member of a wait staff that serves food for catered events. Banquet servers set the table and buffets for service. During service, Banquet Servers take food and drink orders at tables, replenish buffet food, refill beverages, and help facilitate a smooth service. This is a fast-paced position that will involve continuous guest interaction and a constant change in venue setup. Ability to maintain a high level of enthusiasm, cooperation, and flexibility is required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
o Use extensive knowledge of fine dining service to guests.
o Accurately carry and clear plates and glassware when serving guests.
o Efficiently and properly performs all service and sequence of service standards.
o Set up and break down dining tables and buffets.
o Maintain inventory of service wares.
o Respond to guests’ requests in an accurate and timely manner.
o Proper handling of VIP guests and clients.
o Must be knowledgeable about PUBLIC i.e. location, cuisine, etc.
o Ensure that PUBLIC reporting procedures are aligned with applicable SOP.
o Ensure all hotel policies, standards and local laws are followed.
o Ensure sanitation fundamentals and Health Department requirements are met.
o Ensure compliance with all hotel safety policies and procedures at all levels.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
o Maintain a high level of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
o Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, late hours
o Must have the ability to report to work on time and when scheduled.
o Must have the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
o Must have the ability to lift and push (30) pounds, reach with hands and arms.
o Must have extensive experience in fine dining service.
o Be attentive, accountable and highly organized and can multitask.
o Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
o Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor and composure at all times.
o Have an upbeat, energetic, authentic and professional attitude.
o Participate in a team environment.
o Assist other departments when needed, providing lateral service.
o Execute all other responsibilities, tasks and special projects as assigned by leadership.
