Reports to: Director of Food & Beverage

The Elements Conference & Banquet Center, conveniently located in Orland Park, IL, is a perfect solution to our guest’s convention, corporate meeting, special occasion, or wedding needs. Our elegant decor, tasteful furnishings, professional service, and courteous staff provide the perfect atmosphere.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Banquet Manager, you will orchestrate the staffing needs of the wait staff and bartenders as well as expertly execute all the details arranged through the Events & Catering department.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

· Event Management:

  • Understand and execute Banquet Event Orders.
  • Ensure rooms are set-up properly, clean, organized, and view ready, including all equipment, room temperature, lighting, and common areas.
  • Provide excellent customer service by being the main point of contact to clients and their guests. Strive to answer any questions or concerns quickly and appropriately.
  • Collaborate with sales and kitchen staff to ensure events are completed with total guest satisfaction.
  • Close facility: Ensure the building is closed properly and inspect any damages or problems with the facility

· Staff Supervision:

  • Retain, train, and guide banquet staff, and manage other employee relations matters.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and attendance for events. Assist in creating weekly staff schedule. Enforce staff rules with regards to dress policy and food sanitation.

· Venue Management:

  • Interpret P&L’s and analyze payroll costs for accuracy and possible savings.
  • Forecast and budget materials for future events.
  • Maintaining Liquor Controls and Inventory, including ordering for events and organizing liquor room.
  • Order and organize linen supplies and room.
  • Assist General Manager in confirming fair and adequate pricing for all ordered products.

Experience, Skills, and Abilities You Have

  • 4+ years of food service experience and/or a degree in business or hospitality management.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
