OUR PROPERTY

Bowie House, Auberge Resorts is an imaginative and bold new urban retreat that draws visitors to a place whose history is built on tales of frontier valor and adventure. An exciting gathering space for locals and visitors alike, the four-story, 106-room boutique hotel will feature 88 rooms and 18 suites, including a 2,250 square foot signature suite. Luxurious spaces weave together details from Western culture and style like boot jacks and hat racks with contemporary furnishings, lighting and artwork creating feelings of welcome and warmth.

A social hub for locals and visitors, Bowie House offers numerous spaces for visitors to enjoy the conviviality and camaraderie that have distinguished the location for so many years. Visitors can sip cocktails in the library lounge, visit the signature restaurant with views of the enchanting outdoor terraces or relax in cabanas on the second story outdoor infinity pool overlooking a peaceful garden oasis.

ROLE SUMMARY

Join our team as Banquet Director and become one of the authors of our story. This position directs and motivates the team while personally assisting in providing high quality service based on requirements and standards. Monitors and controls financial and administrative responsibilities including asset protection. Provides clear and concise communications to everyone having ownership in the success of the event. Identifies training opportunities and plans a strategy to accomplish goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Managing Banquet Operations

  • Projects supply needs for the department, (e.g., tables, and chairs, banquet tables, meeting sets, props).
  • Applies knowledge of all laws, as they relate to an event.
  • Understands the impact of Banquet operations on the overall success of an event and manages activities to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Adheres to and reinforces all standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains established sanitation levels.
  • Manages departmental inventories and maintains equipment.
  • Schedules Event Services staff to forecast and service standards, while maximizing profits.
  • Assists team in developing lasting relationships with groups to retain business and increase growth.

Participating in and Leading Banquet Teams

  • Sets goals and delegates tasks to improve departmental performance.
  • Conducts monthly department meetings with the Banquet team.
  • Applies and continually broadens knowledge of food and wine pairings and cuisine with emphasis on current event trends.
  • Acts as a liaison to the culinary team.
  • Leads shifts and actively participates in the servicing of events.

Executing Event Services Operations and Maintaining Inventories

  • Attends pre-event meetings as needed to understand group needs.
  • Establishes consistent standards for all event spaces..
  • Conducts event space inspections prior to each function to verify the room is set according to specifications.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards in all event operation areas.
  • Acts as a liaison between Banquets, and Culinary teams, as well as the group contact throughout the event.
  • Projects supply needs for the department.
  • Coordinates routine maintenance to verify a quality experience.
  • Resolves issues and/or suggest alternatives to previous arrangements if necessary.
  • Attends and participates in all pertinent inter-departmental meetings.
  • Leads shifts and actively participates in the servicing of events.
  • Verifies event spaces are set according to event documentation (Banquet Event
  • Orders, resumes, etc.) and customer requirements.

Ensuring and Providing Exceptional Customer Service

  • Sets a positive example for guest relations.
  • Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
  • Encourages employees to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensures employees understand expectations and parameters.
  • Strives to improve service performance.
  • Emphasizes guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focuses on continuous improvement.
  • Reviews comments and guest satisfaction results with employees.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Full-time management position that requires full flexibility, including the ability to work weekends and holidays and a varied schedule.
  • A true desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional and polished verbal and written communication skills in business English.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge.
  • Candidates should be innovative, solution-oriented, detail-oriented and organized.
  • Hotel experience in the areas of food and beverage or rooms preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of all levels of banquet service.
  • The Banquet Manager will work events alongside his/her staff and must be able to work at different times of day and evening, indoors and outdoors in different weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in a similar role with a luxury resort or hotel preferred
  • Previous experience as an event services Manager/Assistant, Captain or Supervisor preferred.
