About This Job
As a Compliance Advisor I, you will monitor complaints resolved by business line partners to ensure they were resolved in accordance with applicable regulations and company policy. This role creates and analyzes complaint reports for trends, and leads weekly complaints review meetings with a cross-functional team. You will review written responses to complaints received through federal agencies like the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Federal Reserve. Additionally, you will assist in responding to requests received as part of regulatory examinations. As part of your role, you will work closely with the Consumer Advocacy Program (CAP), Compliance Advisors, and our legal department. This role works under the direct supervision of the Chief Compliance Officer – Banking.
Essential Functions
Monitor complaints resolution to ensure complaints are resolved within appropriate regulatory compliance and legal guidelines
Maintain and develop relationships with key management and stakeholders to enhance customer experience, productivity, and service performance
Lead a weekly cross-functional team meeting with the purpose of reviewing escalated complaints. This includes assigning escalated complaints to cross-functional team members for review each week.
Drive consistent reporting - both bank-wide and within individual business lines - through consistent complaints quality control processes
Generate monthly, weekly complaint reports
Review complaint reports and individual complaints for trends, including root cause
Learn state and federal banking laws and regulations; assess the impact of such rules on bank processes in relation to complaints resolution
Participate in business unit analysis of complaints
Draft and publish memos to business unit personnel that communicate required actions to resolve the root cause of a complaint or complaint trend
Develop and maintain bank-wide complaint management training and procedures
Assist with regulatory exams, as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge Skills & Abilities Required
Basic knowledge of the Banking Compliance field
Critical analysis skills sufficient to analyze and communicate the root cause of complaints
Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
2+ years of well-rounded and progressive retail banking experience and/or regulatory compliance experience required
Experience with data analysis and Power BI preferred
