Job Description
LOD Staffing is seeking full time assembly Production Workers to grow with our client.
Schedule:
Monday - Saturday (some Sunday or rotating weekends)
4 Shifts available (12 hours shifts ) Temporary to hire positions
- AM Shift - 5am to 5pm ; 6am to 6 pm
- PM Shift - 5pm to 5am ; 6pm to 6am
Position Summary
The Production Worker is responsible for understanding and following all assigned tasks and abiding by all safety requirements. They will assist the designated machine operator or production team in a variety of functions and other tasks as assigned.
Principle Duties And Job Responsibilities
1. Perform the responsibilities and tasks assigned with the general guidance of the Line Leader.
2. Ability to work within a team environment to meet/exceed established production standards.
3. Clean up responsibilities:
· During downtimes maintain the surrounding area by cleaning the floors and disposing of waste in appropriate receptacles.
4. Production equipment responsibilities:
· Assists lead operator in preparing for shift production..
· May be required to work with conveyors, etc. as assigned.
5. Comply with the following programs within the production area:
· Current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
· Any and all food safety programs.
· Any and all safety programs.
6. Communications:
· Ability to communicate problems or issues that are occurring on the production floor to the production management team.
· Ability to work and communicate with other departments on production issues or concerns.
7. Personal Development:
· Take on additional responsibilities and consistently demonstrate problem solving skills in order to move up within the company.
8. Follows attendance policy. Observes department call-in procedures. Exhibits timely arrival and departure and dependable time habits including meal and other breaks.
9. Maintains a positive attitude and gets along well with coworkers.
10. Exhibits teamwork and willingness to help others.
11. Follows dress code and maintains a professional appearance.
12. Can be relied upon to complete assigned tasks and move lines
13. Complies with established Departmental and Organizational policies and procedures.
14. Works within a team environment to meet/exceed established production standards.
Minimum Qualifications
· Manufacturing experience preferred but not required
· Must have a great attention to detail to be able to detect the presence of product or production issues.
· Ability to visually inspect product and materials.
· An understanding or willingness to learn food manufacturing and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
· Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment is mandatory
· Must be able to understand and follow verbal or written communications.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to move from one task to another with minimal distraction
Physical capable of performing the demands of the role and position
Flexible to workdays, afternoons, nights and weekends if needed
Physical and Mental Requirements
Must be able to understand the English language
Must be able to complete the following without assistance:
Occasionally (33% of the day)
Walk, reach overhead, reach at shoulder, bends squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs and ladder, and crawl
Frequently ( 66% of the day)
Reach at knee or floors, stoops and pinches
Constant (100% of the day)
Stand, twist, push/pull with arms and hands, reach at waist, pivots, pronation/supination, cervical flexion, and fine motor movements
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, handling, reach outward, reach above shoulder, crawl, squat/Kneel, bend, push and pull frequently. Maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on work surface.
• Ability to bend the body downward and forward by bending spine at waist, and bending legs at knees and moving extremities in any direction
• Ability to withstand physical demands on the body, including being in a stationary and/or standing position most of the day
• Ability to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, including where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly
• Ability to understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information
Lifts up to 35 lbs. occasionally
- Must be able to handle items in excess of 30 lbs., up to 35 lbs.
It is the responsibility of the individual team leader to never lift beyond his/her own safe lifting limit. If the team leader feels that an item is too heavy to lift, push/pull, and/or carry, the team leader must: (1) break the item down into lighter/smaller, more manageable components, which he/she is comfortable with safely handling (if applicable); (2) ask for assistance from another worker; or (3) ask for assistance from a leader/manager.
