Bakery Assistant

AJ’s Cookie Jar is a bakery that specializes in French macarons & unique dessert bars. Our goal is to give the community a special dessert experience. We offer new flavors weekly and special event services. We are looking for a Bakery Assistant to serve the community.

Position Summary

The Bakery Assistant will attend to the customer experience, ensuring guests are satisfied and treated to high-quality baked goods. They will take orders at the cash register and by phone, stock the display cases, maintain a clean work area, prepare baked goods according to specifications, and clean dishes.

Required Work Experience/ Education

• High School Diploma/ GED
• 1 Year Restaurant experience
• 2 Years Customer Service experience
• 1 Year Baking Experience

Preferred Experience

• Marketing, advertising
• Sales
• Content creation/ Social Media

Skills/Aptitude

• Maintains a positive attitude
• Able to follow procedures
• Able to work independently and in a team setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, reach, push/pull, regularly lift/move 30 lbs, lift/move 50 lbs
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)

General Responsibilities

• Packaging orders
• Greeting customers
• Taking phone orders/ managing custom orders
• Folding boxes
• Cleaning work areas
• Stocking the display cases
• Cleaning Dishes
• Filling Macarons & Baking cookies
• Preparing doughs and fillings
• Properly storing products and following procedures
• Counting inventory

This is a general list of duties, additional tasks will be assigned as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour
