Baker's Assistant
General role: Support head baker in producing baked goods for lodge.
Employment: Full Time Seasonal December 1st- Mid April
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the baker in the preparation of made-from-scratch breads, pastries, and desserts served daily at breakfast, lunch, après ski, and dinner according to approved/successful recipes
- Safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools/equipment/appliances to complete all steps in the baking process
- Ensure the proper HACCP handling and labeling of food
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitary conditions of kitchen areas
- Assist chefs and kitchen staff as necessary
- Follow both written and verbal directions
Qualifications:
- Prior kitchen experience
- Adaptability
- Self-motivated
- Efficient time management
- Great teamwork skills and attention to detail
- Positive can do, get it done attitude
- Strong/efficient interpersonal communication skills
- Must be able to obtain a valid Utah food handler permit
- Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, lift, and carry heavy materials
Work Schedule
- Exact hours set by lead baker, generally 2:00 am – 11:00 am, or until tasks complete
- Weekend and Holiday work required.
- No vacation as this is a seasonal position.
Accommodations
- This is a live in position. Onsite housing available. Bi weekly room and board charge of $125 includes three meals a day.
- Off-site housing is also available in our employees housing at the base of the canyon available for a bi-weekly room and board charge of $100 includes three meals a day
