Baker/Donut Fryer - 4:30AM Start - Part-Time ONLY

Join our team to be part of helping the bakery continue to grow! The Foundry Bakehouse & Deli has been open since April 2019, coming up on five years, and is located in the renovated Peabody building. You have the opportunity to work with our bakers and other team members in a beautiful and state of the art kitchen, to help shape and develop the Foundry into a destination spot for individuals across Michigan.

The immediate opening is for a baker position that starts at 4:30 AM Tuesday - Saturday and is Part-Time. If you are not interested in this start time, please do not apply.

We are searching for skilled, bakers or cooks who strive to provide excellent baked items and service in an efficient, professional manner. The Baker will execute established recipes, fry and finish donuts as well as work with staff to expand on established offerings. The Baker will perform quality checks on ingredients and finished products, use icing, glazes, fillings, and decorations to enhance item presentation, and process orders from customers. The position also includes duties related to making breakfast sandwiches to order, and preparing ingredients and components of the breakfast sandwiches ahead of time to ensure timely and high quality products to customers. You will also greet customers, answer questions, clean workstations and equipment, and perform other duties to ensure the customer needs are satisfied and the bakery is well-stocked and operating smoothly. To be successful, you should be reliable, efficient, friendly with a focus on food quality and customer service as well as be organized, and attentive.

On-the-job training is available for brand specific recipes. Candidates must have experience with from scratch cooking / baking either in their own homes or in a commercial kitchen. Successful candidates will be reliableand have some experience baking and cooking, and/or previous restaurant experience. Confidence and comfort with different measurements and converting measurements are important for candidates. Candidates will be required to complete a second, hands-on interview, following an initial interview
