Path Forward IT (PFIT), a Blue Alliance company, is a national IT services provider with origins in healthcare IT. Since 2002, Path Forward IT has been troubleshooting, architecting, migrating, protecting, and securing IT environments for healthcare practices and businesses across a multitude of high-impact industries. At Path Forward IT, we are looking for the right person to fill the role of Backup Engineer I.
The role of Backup Engineer I is to assist users with issues by phone and by ticket. As part of the Backups & Recovery team, the Backup Engineer I is responsible for following the documented procedures for support, monitoring the ticket gateway, and maintaining recovery.
Important Attributes for a Path Forward IT Backup Engineer I:
Keen ability to troubleshoot IT issues and dedication to follow an issue all the way to its resolution
Excellent written and verbal communication with team members and partners
A willingness and commitment to learn new things and grow new skill sets
Obtain and maintain all Cohesity certifications
Ability to travel by personal vehicle to nearby locations and PFIT data centers as needed (mileage reimbursement provided)
And of course, your technical skills! This should include:
Basic understanding of hardware, software, and network troubleshooting
General understanding of DHCP and DNS configuration and management
Basic understanding of enterprise backup solutions
Able to successfully multitask and prioritize service issues
Working experience with remote management of client computers and servers
General knowledge for performing:
Active Directory and Exchange user and group maintenance tasks
Virtual Environment Management of Exchange 2010-2019/O365, SQL server management and understanding of various Microsoft Server products (Hyper-V, VMWare, Remote Desktop Services, etc.)
As a Path Forward IT Backup Engineer I we’re counting on you to:
Take ownership and be accountable for solving service support tickets without reassigning the ticket
Document new customer findings by creating or updating articles in IT Glue
Maintain the Backup & Recovery board in ticketing system, all tickets up to date and in correct status
Ensure optimum client experience when handling enterprise network and server issues
Keep team members and customers informed of critical situations while following internal SLAs
