Background Investigator I Or Ii - Sante Fe, Nm - Us Citizenship Required.!

With your background we at Peraton believes you could be a great fit for a critical role as a full-time Background Investigator In the Sante Fe, NM AREA (15 MILE RADIUS OF Santa Fe, NM).

The Investigator will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

• Successfully complete a full time, 6-7 week new Investigator training both virtually and in person in order to be certified in the Federal Investigative Standards for government background investigations

• Travel daily when conducting in person background investigations for the purpose of determining employment suitability of persons who require access to sensitive or classified U.S. Government information

• Investigators will schedule and conduct face-to-face interviews throughout their designated area with the subject and their neighbors, employers, friends and family

• Investigators will also perform record searches at police agencies, courthouses, educational and financial institutions, and medical/mental health facilities

• Investigators are required to type and report all obtained information in a clear and concise report on a government issued computer system

• Working independently while also a member of a team of Investigators and with a Field Manager

Required qualifications:

· Candidates with 4 years of general work experience or a bachelor’s degree may be considered; candidates with experience conducting DCSA/NBIB or other federal background investigations preferred

· Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret eligible clearance; Active federal background investigation with a T5 adjudication is preferred

· U.S. citizenship

· This position pays $23.00 per hour

HIGHLIGHTS

PAY

• Local Area Pay – Non Negotiable

• SCA/bonus

• $35 for internet/$50 for cell

• Gov’t rate for milage

• Computer and other office supplies

• Up to $25 Fax machine/land line

Job

• Home is your office

• Local travel normally within 50mi

• TDY’s – a couple times a year (3week periods)

• Face/face interviews, public records pulls, etc..

• Writing – lots of writing

Clearance

• Top Secret required – takes 3 to 6mo on average

• Repayment agreement

Training

• 6 weeks

• OJT – ride along

• They will obtain a Federal Investigator Certification

• Have to pay back $4k if they leave before 12 months

Other Highlight

• $700 per month towards Insurance; if not used (or use all of it) it goes into 401K (equals 4.23/hour but again what ever they don’t use it goes right into their 401k)

• There is a reimbursement of the Training, if someone leaves before 12 months, pro-rated

• Can not onboard until the TS clearance is cleared. Usually has been taking 3-5 months

• They have sort of gotten rid of the rule of needing to be within a 20mile radius of a certain location fyi….
