Backfill Excavator Operator - Utility (Lee, Chatham, Johnston County)

Are you an Excavator Operator capable of skillfully operating for utility construction? Are you looking for an established company in North Carolina that will keep you from traveling overnight for work? 
Sanford Contractors might be the right place for you! We're looking for a skilled heavy equipment operator with the following qualifications:

• Efficient and safe operation of an excavator - Able to operate excavator for utility crews (backfill)
• Willingness to perform physical labor when needed to assist the crew
• Able to perform walk-around inspections of heavy equipment and alert equipment technicians to any issues with equipment

• Work with cost effectiveness, profitability and safety in mind
• Lead by example
• Lead the safety effort by recognizing and correcting hazards as soon as they are present
• Arrive at work prior to designated work start time
• Attend daily safety and project coordination meeting
• Check fluid levels daily before use
• Assist in locating existing utilities to avoid damage
• Restore post construction work to original condition or better
• Communicate time away from work with your team leader and other team members with sufficient notice to make plans for changing personnel to focus on the priorities
• Willingness to work hours as required

 

Education/Training/Certification:

• Trenching and Excavation Competent Person
• First Aid/CPR
