To help us continue our mission of helping people-centered organizations create safe and inclusive workplaces, we are seeking a Backend Software Engineer to contribute to the development of innovative compliance products. They will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend systems that power our tools and supporting services. The successful candidate will have a passion for creating user-centric software solutions demonstrate a deep understanding of software design principles.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and build software, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with designers, success teams, and other stakeholders to deeply understand user needs and translate them into functional requirements.
• Develop and execute short and long-term roadmaps, making effective trade-offs between business impact, user experience, and technical feasibility.
• Improve code quality through writing unit tests, automation, and performing code reviews to ensure robust and maintainable codebase.

Who You Are:

• You possess a bachelor's degree or more in Computer Science or a related field
• You have 4+ years of software engineering and/or work related industry experience
• You have 2+ years experience of Ruby On Rails
• You've had previous success developing and shipping a large-scale web application with a user-empathetic mindset
• You are skilled at building user-facing software and supporting systems and libraries for the web and/or desktop
• You have a solid OOP and software design knowledge – you should know how to create software that’s extensible, reusable and meets desired architectural objectives
