About the Role
Casetext is seeking a Backend Engineer to help satisfy demand for CoCounsel , our state of the art AI legal assistant. As a Backend Engineer, you'll help bridge our customers' data into our system on a large scale, empowering them to find needles in haystacks in minutes instead of days. You'll design and implement intuitive interfaces for complex workflows. Our ideal candidate is curious and interested in technical breadth, both valuable assets in our fast-paced startup environment. This role is entirely remote, but you must be based in the U.S. and authorized to work in the U.S.
As the Backend Engineer You Will:
- Connect external data to our internal search system
- Expose new and existing web services with intuitive APIs
- Help implement our user content search backend
- Be flexible for assorted backend work - our needs change often!
About You:
- You have 2+ years professional software engineering experience, ideally at a startup
- You are proficient with recent production level experience in Python
- You are proficient in building and interacting with web APIs
- You are intuitive and curious
- You excel in a collaborative work environment
- You are able to communicate technical topics to non-technical audiences
- Experience using a DMS, like Relativity or NetDocuments is preferred, but not required
- Prefer someone with experience with SQL, as well as statically type language, like Scala, Java or C++
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes platforms is ideal
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud services is preferred, but not required.
Salary Range: $115-$150K, total compensation
As listed above, the salary range for this role's listed level is currently $115,000-$150,000. Compensation is determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data and geographic location. This role is also eligible for Thomson Reuter's Annual Incentive Plan as a part of our total compensation strategy. This role is 100% remote, but you must be a resident of the U.S. The salary range listed is for U.S. residents only.
