Job Summary:
The purpose of the Winder Operator is to make sure winders are creeled and running.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Run assigned orders from supervisor.
- Responsible for correct cone counts.
- Inform supervisor of any machine problems.
- Keep work area clean.
- Make good air splices.
Performance Expectations (if applicable):
- Lifting is required of cones of yarn weighing 10 to 12 lbs. 50 to 60 times per shift.
- Standing is required 80% of time.
- Reaching is required for yarn 50 to 60% of shift.
- Bending is required to creel 50% of time.
- Walking is required 80% of time.
- Must be able to use snips and/or scissors at varied times during shift.
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, and kneel.
Experience/Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to read and write.
- Must be able to do basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Other Requirements:
- Overtime is required on occasion.
- All accidents must be reported immediately.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Safety equipment must be worn as required.
- Report to management any quality, safety, or potential problems encountered while performing the job.
- Responsible for quality and safety of his/her own output.
