Job Summary:
Caterpillar IT is seeking a DevOps Cloud Engineer to join our AWS Cloud team. In this role, you will work alongside both peers and cloud architects to focus on creating foundational buildouts, CI/CD solutions, and cybersecurity efforts to support our internal partners’ needs. We have a focus on developing the next generation of IT professionals where you will gain a foundational knowledge of the manufacturing industry, as well as key technology trends.
What you will do:
- Support implementations, upgrades, and change requests on client environments
- Create, implement, and assist in the development of scripts to automate everyday operations
- Deploying or integrating cloud technologies based on requirements gathered from customers
- Assisting customers with documentation, training, and usability efforts.
- Working with a team on complex, globally distributed cloud technology components that may be used by one or more applications or systems
What You will Have
- Core Application Systems: Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations..
- Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
- Implementation: Knowledge of how to run applications for organizations; ability to implement application software within an organization and help end-users perform specific tasks.
- System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.
Considerations for Top Candidates:
- Typically, 1-3 years in infrastructure operations and/or application development, with emphasis in areas of networking, applications services, analytics platforms, distributed computing, or security, with emphasis on CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
- Experience developing automated solutions to deploy infrastructure or applications ( PowerShell, Python, JSON or YAML )
- AWS Associate level certification or greater
- Experience using the Agile methodology
- Basic knowledge of RHEL/Windows server environments
- Proven ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and/or application connectivity issues across a complex global network
- Strong communication, teamwork, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem solving and customer service skills
- Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed

Additional Information:
- This position will be based out of our Nashville, TN office
- Will work 3 days a week onsite
