Job Summary and Qualifications
Seeking an AVP of Medical Staff Services for Methodist Healthcare System who contributes to the company’s mission and vision by directing and leading credentialing colleagues and activities for the Methodist Healthcare System (MHS). The Division Assistant Vice President of Medical Staff Services is accountable for the legal, regulatory, and administrative aspects of multiple separate and distinct Medical Staff Organizations (e.g. Governing Boards and Medical Executive Committees). What you will do in this role:
- Serve as the communication link between corporate staff, division/system staff, and facilities within the healthcare system as related to credentialing operations and governance.
- Monitor implementation and progress of credentialing and data integrity projects within the healthcare system.
- Foster a collaborative working relationship between facilities within the healthcare system, staff, credentialing staff and Clinical Services Group (CSG)/Professional Practice Advancement (PPA) personnel, division Information Protection & Security and key internal stakeholders.
- Represent the interests of Medical Staff Professionals (MSP) by gathering and providing their feedback to CSG about matters related to the design, implementation, and success of various aspects of the Credentialing Strategy or Governance program.
- Coordinate efforts to develop processes that support sharing of best practices.
- Provide orientation (corporate/division overview) to new MSPs within the division. Advocate for the goals of the credentialing strategy and governance.
- Be a subject matter expert for MSP colleagues.
What qualifications you will need:
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Staff Services science, business, or related field of study or an equivalent combination of training and experience required.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years comprehensive credentialing experience in an acute care hospital or CVO setting.
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory/management experience.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:
• Certified Professional Medical Services Management and/or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist within 12 months.
