Aviation Piston Engine Technician

Precision Air Power has been in operation for over 50 years as a FAA authorized repair station specializing in Lycoming and Continental engines. We are a smaller veteran owned shop with a handful of employees and are known for the quality of workmanship we produce and are looking to add one more position to our team.

Our preferred candidate is someone who has prior FAA part 145 Piston Engine shop experience however we are considering those with a FAA A&P certificate. This person is someone with experience or has their certificate and is wanting to learn and can easily transition into the team and in short time accept the role of accountable manager.

This position will report to the management team, and upon being able to transition into the accountable manager role, will oversee the operations of Precision Air Power and provide guidance, training and be hands on with all aspects of the process. Provides operational input for all deliverables (WOs, Parts, Assemblies). Monitors performance, Establish and maintain positive working relationships and collaboration with customers and leadership. Also facilitates work tasks, provides necessary training, leads problem resolution & process improvements along with developing employees and personal skills for continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manage and perform shop work and production

· Teardown

· Cleaning

· Inspection

· Re-work

· Assembly

· Establish Workflow

· Implement Process Improvements to reduce hours

· Ensure operation uptime through

· Researching inventory for parts and assembly along with substitutions

· Ensure equipment is maintained and operational

· Repair Station Manual

· Maintain compliance and reediness for audits

· Perform re-writes and updates as required

· Quality

· Maintain product quality throughout the overhaul process

· Identify and implement where process improvements can be made

· Responsible for and has the authority over all repair station operations that are conducted under part 145, including ensuring that repair station personnel follow the regulations and serving as the primary contact with the FAA.

Preferred Qualifications

· Meet the requirements of FAA Title 14 CFR 21, Repair Station Tile 14 CFR 145 experience

· Education and experience 3 years experience in FAA Part 145 aircraft engine shop, maintenance and modifications.

· Airworthiness and Maintenance Regulation experience, understanding and detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements.

· Leadership skills and ability to prioritize, work under stress & drive change.

· Proven ability to manage customer expectations
