Introduction
We are looking to hire a reliable and organized on-site AV Field Technician/Installer to install, maintain, low voltage audio video systems for onsite business customers. The Jr. AV Field Technician/Installer will work with lead AV Technicians/Supervisors in the field to install low voltage audio video systems in a professional manner. This includes but is not limited to, running cable throughout building infrastructure, terminating cables and testing, using hand and power tools, and configuring audio video equipment. Providing on-site technical support in addition to cable technician responsibilities, working on ladders and lifts, installing audio video equipment, and troubleshooting any problems with the audio video system. Off Site installation technicians will assemble, configure, and test equipment racks for upcoming installs.
Candidate should have a strong knowledge of cable technology, audio video technology and hardware. Should be able to work in cramped spaces, at heights, and interact with customers/clients in a friendly and professional manner. Based on the candidate’s experience, education and certifications, there are several positions available. Candidates should work on obtaining and maintaining relevant certifications pertaining to this field of work.
Responsibilities and Specific Duties:
- Show up on time, prepared with proper tools and equipment. Must be reliable.
- Be safety minded while on any job.
- Work with Supervisors/Lead Technicians to understand upcoming projects.
- Maintain a neat work environment, clean up trash and debris after each installation day on-site.
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing audio video cable infrastructure.
- Provide On-Site Support.
- Gather and Organize equipment for jobs, delivery of equipment for specific jobs.
- Return equipment to warehouse and back to inventory. Keep track of equipment that was no longer needed on jobsite.
- Must be able to follow specific detailed instructions.
- Ensure great communication between management/superiors, especially regarding significant issues.
- Maintain a helpful, friendly working relationship with coworkers and customers.
- Performing maintenance on existing cabling systems.
- Testing newly installed or relocated cables according to company specifications.
- Troubleshooting issues with cable system and av system.
- Installing cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, etc.
- Ensuring all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to company cabling specifications and safety regulations.
- In-house responsibilities include the following: Rack building, preparation of upcoming projects, testing equipment before heading on-site.
- Completing paperwork such as checklists and service reports in detail.

Physical and Mental Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
· This role/position is highly active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and some climbing in a shift. The employee must frequently lift and/or move audio video equipment items over 75lbs.
· Ability to stay focused and maintain concentration with frequent interruptions and/or questions.
· Ability to multitask between a few tasks at a time.

· Ability to articulate positively, with accurate details and report findings to supervisor.
· Ability to sit for extended periods of time on-site or in a vehicle.
· Use of ladder is required.
· Use of power tools and hand tools is required.
Working Conditions and Environment
· This role/position involves working on-site indoors, occasionally on construction sites.
· This role/position requires 85% of travel, with a possibility of a higher percentage on occasion, this includes overnight stay and/or travel for the entire work week.
· Must be open to work weekends if needed.
· Must be flexible with schedule changes.
Experience, Education, Training, and Qualifications
· Minimum 1-3 years AV Installation experience.
· Minimum 1-3 years low voltage installation.
· CTS certified. (Must be willing to obtain within first 90days)
· 10 Hour OSHA training. (Must be willing to obtain within first 90 days)
· Good problem-solving techniques, quick learner in a fast-paced environment
· Any degrees, certifications pertaining to audio video would be highly considered.
· Strong knowledge of audio video systems.
· Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and problem solve any issues/problems that may arise.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
