Job description

Work Schedule: 7am-4pm
Position is hybrid but will require onsite training as a new employee.
Manage the daily operations and strategic growth of the Television Network Services and Telehealth Services Television Operations Center (TOC) as well as the Engineering specialists to include telemedicine, videoconferencing, cable television, streaming media, television network and engineering services to upgrade and maintain all conference rooms at MDA. Maintain inventory and provide oversight of operations, maintenance, repair and purchase of Audio Visual equipment within institutional conference facilities. Develop financial reports such as annual budgets, return on investment reports, business plans, short and long term departmental goals and analysis of business operations. Oversight of the administrative and technical operations, and management of the business activities including performance standards, hiring, training, evaluating and oversight of the professional development of staff. Reviews and updates policies and procedures. Collects and analyses customer feedback to develop and implement customer service programs. Interacts and communicates with customers across organizational lines assuring delivery of quality products throughout the institution. Provides supervisory and managerial support in the management of the entire scope of TOC/Network Servides/TV Engineering operations for MD Anderson. Builds relationships with customers and constituents to increase customer satisfaction. Insures compliance with federal, state and local regulations including internal controls.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
1.Daily Operations /Personnel Management/Staff Development/Departmental PoliciesManages the MD Anderson Television Operations Center (TOC) and TV Engineering personnel in support of video and web conference initiatives as well as overall technology of institutional conference rooms. Provide Feedback to staff, create opportunities, provide resources, conduct 1:1's, give clear direction to staff, conduct staff meetings, goal setting, mentor and coach, evaluations, review work processes, develop efficient systems for high productivity, evaluate new software and train staff, track professional development, train staff on new processes, hold staff accountable. Oversee annual inventories (space, asset). Development of AV standards.
2. Financial Management Create annual budgets and manage throughout the year to stay within the acceptable variance, create short and long term goals and strategic forecasts for all areas under authority, approval annual maintenance contracts, conduct cost feasibility studies of proposed programs or purchases and make recommendations, review business and master plans for the department. Work with various departments for budget refresh numbers. Create metrics for operational areas and research large variances from month to month.
3. Customer Service/Communication Provides immediate and exceptional customer service to all customers, obtain customer feedback through customer surveys regarding satisfaction of products and services, facilitate focus groups when necessary, answer customer concerns and emails within 24 hours, possess the ability to work closely with others, including other departments and communicate clearly both oral and written. Directs operations of MDA-TV, the cable television system providing patient entertainment, information and education programs to patients and staff throughout the institution in addition to supporting enterprise digital signage. This includes communications responsibility for the design, publishing and distribution of information materials for the Patient Movie Channel schedule, other MDA-TV programming and the MDA-TV Library. Serves as administrative liaison with LodgeNet, Inc., cable television service provider, on operational, budgetary and programming matters.
Other duties as assigned by Associate Dir, Event and AV Ops. This includes but not limited to special projects. This position description is no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Technology, or related field. Five years of experience in conference center support, hospitality, audio visual technology, web conferencing, streaming media, or related field, to include three years of supervisory or management experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
