ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Daily attendance and punctuality are required for ensuring that program goals are met
- Assist students individually or in groups with lesson assignments for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts
- Implements, under the supervision of the teacher, the instructional program and lesson plans
- Monitors individual students, classroom, library, playground activities, to ensure a safe and positive learning environment
- Learns and maintains knowledge of policies
- Performs routine record keeping and reports and clerical functions
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive data and information pertaining to individual students and/or overall program
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assume reasonable job-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor in order to meet the needs of the school
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Time management skills
- Ability to follow oral and written instruction; reading
- Ability to work independently with or without supervision
- Ability to discern stages of child development/age appropriate activities
- Knowledge of safety rules in the work place
- Ability and willing to work with a significant diversity of individuals and perform effectively as a team member
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an “as needed” basis
- Walk and stand 80% of work shift
- Stoop, bend, twist, turn, and reach on a regular basis
- Adequate strength, dexterity, and agility to perform all tasks assigned
