About the role:
We are looking for an experienced truck driver recruiter (class 3-7) to join our Fleet Operations team. You will partner with the Operations team and external sourcing partners to identify, select and onboard 20-30 drivers per month. You will manage the hiring process from beginning to end, responsible for attracting candidates, evaluating experience, scheduling and conducting interviews. You will explain and sell open positions to qualified candidates and assist in the application process. You will also pre-screen these applicants to ensure they meet DOT and company standards before scheduling their orientation and road tests.
This is a growth oriented role reporting into Fleet Operations leadership with support from our Talent Acquisition team. This role is onsite at least four days/week in our Mountain View office.
- Proven work experience as a Truck Driver Recruiter.
- Manage high volume pipelines to hit hiring goals on target dates.
- Must understand FMCSA & DOT requirements to be in compliance;
- Communicate with potential new hires about the benefits of being a Gatik Autonomous Vehicle Operator (AVO).
- Cold call potential candidates.
- Receive and input Driver resumes and applications into our Applicant Tracking Systems.
- Assist with Driver processing, including background, MVR, and Clearinghouse screens, employment verifications, scheduling physicals, drug tests, orientation, and complete the hiring process.
- Use data to assess the interview process and create a higher efficiency interview process.
- Collaborate with external vendors on hiring strategy, sources, and improve efficiency.
- When needed, help onboard contract hires and manage first day details.
- Act as an ambassador for Gatik's mission, values and employee value proposition.
- Utilize creative sourcing techniques to build candidate pipelines.
- Be committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce, including participation in driving equity, inclusion, and diversity initiatives within the recruiting process.

- A minimum of 3+ years of high volume recruiting experience in the Transportation or Trucking industry.
- Flexible, team-oriented approach to work.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- A track record of personal accountability, strong work ethic, integrity, and proven organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to take initiative and build strong, productive relationships
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience recruiting in technical, and business operations roles.
- Experience working at a rapidly growing start-up.
