Join an agile highly motivated team of engineers responsible for the development and implementation of emerging autonomous technology for use in ground combat vehicles. The function of this position is to support the development of advanced autonomous capabilities across the domains of mobility, situational awareness, reconnaissance, human-machine integration, and operational mission planning & execution. Product teams work together using the latest advances in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Model Based Systems Engineering to bring these concepts to reality.

The following are the key duties and skills required:
  • Apply computer science, engineering, security, and mathematical analysis in the application of autonomous capabilities . Specific functionality focused on mobility, situational awareness, reconnaissance, human-machine integration, and operational mission planning & execution.
  • Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate system interfaces, operational performance requirements, and design of the overall system.
  • Develop functional and behavioral models to capture requirements and enable full system traceability using Model Bases System Engineering (MBSE) tools.
  • Gain an understanding of feature/systems requirements and the ability to translate the requirements into validation test procedures and use cases.
  • Develop documentation and review to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with contract requirements. Specifically, checkpoint and design milestone artifacts and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRLs).
  • Participate in internal and customer demonstrations.
  • Participate in peer reviews, identify, track and assess solutions to defects.
  • Participate in design and integration troubleshooting/Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and problem report/test incident resolution for production, development, test, or modification projects.
  • Supporting and/or conduct trade studies/structured decisions for Autonomous Systems.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor or Masters degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years related engineering experience; 1-3 years Robotics experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform general hands-on troubleshooting of electromechanical systems.
  • Strong software development skills - C, C++, Python.
  • Proficiency with Linux (Ubuntu).
  • Exposure to networking, communication, and interface technologies and protocols CAN, TCP, UDP, DDS, MAVLink, JAUS, IOP, etc.
  • Understanding of major automotive vehicle systems such as motion control, automotive Network, and powertrain.
  • Experience evaluating emerging technologies and success with integration of technologies onto platforms/products.
  • This position will require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance).
  • This position may require the candidate to be able to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles is desired. Must be able to pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space).
  • The flexibility to work non-duty hours or on weekends as needed by the project.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: Familiar with common neural network architectures, such as CNN, DNN, FCN, ResNET, VGG, Inception, along with reinforcement learning to solve practical problems.
  • Experience with Autonomous Systems and/or Robotics including path-planning, localization, mapping, SLAM, controls, modeling, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, and perception ( computer vision, radars, or LIDAR).
  • Hands-on experience with Autonomous Systems and sensing technologies, such as LiDAR, radar, camera, IMU, and GPS.
  • Familiar with common open-source middleware and libraries like ROS, OpenCV, Gazebo, Rviz, PCL, etc.
  • Experience working with various universities, research institutions, government labs and industrial partners to research, develop and implement cutting-edge vehicle autonomy technologies.
  • Experience with typical vehicle mobility systems that enable acceleration, braking, and steering.
  • Experience with sensor fusion, tracking, object detection and classification.
  • Familiar with multi-vehicle coordination.
  • Experience with MATLAB, LabVIEW, and GPU programming.
