Assistant Repair Technician

POSITION PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for maintaining and coordinating the covert vehicles to meet covert audit schedule.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure performance of covert vehicle, including the set up and testing failures of covert audit vehicles.
- Assist Customer Service staff in evaluation of repair receipts to determine if pricing is reasonable and if work notated is emission related.
- Visually inspect vehicles presented for repair waivers to determine whether the repair work has been made.
- Serves as liaison to Georgia's Clean Air Force public information staff for repair tech outreach.
- Work with management on motorist vehicles that have problems with emissions.
- Research vehicles that have failed test multiple years and are requesting another repair waiver to determine possible solutions and/or repairs to the vehicle.
- Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the Covert Auditing Center.
- Assist and provide support to auditors on both vehicle and visual audits.
- Assist the Overt and Covert managers on any issues that may occur through the course of the business day.
- Serves as back-up to the Senior Repair Technician.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Knowledgeable of vehicle diagnosis and repair
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of general office systems (i.e. PC), procedures and methods.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Efficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 months Automotive Service work experience.
- A.S.E. Certification preferred.

- Automotive service: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:
- ASE Certification (Preferred)
