Title: Automation Engineer III
Duties: Bastian Solutions LLC seeks an Automation Engineer III based from Headquarters in Carmel, Indiana to work with R&D team to develop industry leading robotic automation for material handling applications. Integrate existing solutions and provide R&D and prototype development to bring new products to market. The process involves understanding the customer's goals and objectives to develop engineered solutions to meet them. Technologies used in this position include: IEC 61131-3 PLC programming, AutoCAD Electrical, High voltage wiring, HMI development suites, industrial instrumentation and communication protocols, Robotics, Yaskawa software packages, end of arm tooling, Rockwell/Allen Bradley software packages, Python, C++, Microsoft Windows and Office products, as well as Robot Operating System. Execute all phases of automation projects including: concept and research, sales support, estimating, component selection, network design, panel design, ACAD layout, device troubleshooting, PLC/PC programming, HMI development, on-site installation and debugging, and after sales support. Prioritize and handle tasks independently. Serve as mentor to newer and/or less experienced engineers. Hands on electro-mechanical capabilities will be frequently relied upon. Travel to various customer sites will be required between 15-30% with up to 20% work from home permitted. Annual salary: $121,472 - $121,472.
Requirements: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field plus 1 year (or Bachelor's degree plus five progressive years) of electro-mechanical engineering experience. Must have 1 year of experience with (1) Rockwell/Allen Bradley software packages; (2) Yaskawa software packages; (3) robotic programming; (4) AutoCAD Electrical; (5) Python, C++, Java; and (6) HMI Development Suites (Wonderware/Movicon/Factory Talk).
