Automation Engineer

Eleven Recruiting is searching for an Automation Engineer to join one of our largest aerospace clients sitting onsite in Simi Valley, CA. The Automation Engineer provides a range of expertise in supporting and improving the manufacturing capabilities to produce products. Our ideal candidate will have experience improving legacy equipment as well as making the equipment more efficient. Contributes to improving a range of fabrication processes that can directly impact the sustaining and growth efforts of operations. Participates in the introduction of new products to the manufacturing and supply chain environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop, evaluate, and implement improvements to existing automation in mechanical assembly, machining, and inspection processes.
• Develop and implement maintenance programs for equipment.
• Manage equipment purchase and installation.
• Prepare manufacturing and electrical documentation.
• Improving legacy equipment and figuring out how to upgrade the equipment and make it more efficient
• Work closely with hardware and software development teams to develop and integrate tests into product development cycle
• Analyze test data and provide feedback to engineering teams on areas of improvement
• Write technical documentation and provide training and support to other team members
• Use MATLAB, Simulink, Simscape, LTSpice or similar to validate Electronics Circuits and support troubleshooting

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in developing automated equipment in manufacturing industries
• 2+ years experience testing electrical or mechanical products
• Experience writing software with (Python, Labview, C/C++, or any other relevant language)
  • Visual Basic is a plus
• Experience working with Hydraulics, Electronics, and Valves
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with source control tools and Aerospace processes a plus
• Strong knowledge of MATLAB, Simulink, Simscape and LTSpice or similar Simulation Tools is a plus
