This Information Technology Specialist I position is under the direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II - Automated License Data System (ALDS) Program Manager. The incumbent is responsible for technology support to analyze, design, test, implement, maintain and evaluate the ALDS application. In addition, the incumbent will lead enterprise projects to convert existing Department processes and migrating legacy systems to ALDS as well as implement new functionality to comply with new legislation or regulations.
The CDFW's Automated License Data System (ALDS) is an integrated enterprise information system supporting CDFW business processes and management of Fish and Wildlife licensing. It incorporates disparate, but interconnected functions that support the CDFW mission and legislated administration of programs, including, but not limited to: sport licensing and reporting; commercial licensing and limited entry fishery permit management; special permit application review and licensing; big game, waterfowl and other drawings; revenue management; content management; and decision support services.
This position is in CDFW's ALDS Unit, which is a small group of high performing IT professionals who work collaboratively with CDFW staff, external stakeholders, and the vendor hosting the ALDS solution to ensure smooth operations and implementation of new improvements, functionality and features.

Working Conditions
Ability to work at a desk using a computer keyboard several hours a day. Involves sitting most of the time but may require movement as well. Telework is available. This position will be headquartered in the Natural Resources Building, but the incumbent will be expected to occasionally visit other State offices.
This position qualifies for Public Service Loan Forgiveness Accrual Credit .
