Full Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Survey CAD Technician to participate in survey projects throughout New Jersey. The candidate will be an experienced and qualified CAD technician who will become an integral part of the survey CAD department working closely with professional land surveyors, survey field crews. As a Survey CAD Technician, you will be assisting with review and drafting of survey field notes and survey data. Experience working with topographic, boundary surveys and preparing cut sheets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing CAD deliverables in various formats, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation and in support of survey and engineering projects
- Use CAD software to analyze field data, and record title documents and produce survey-related mapping including boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic and utility surveys, railroad surveys, plat maps, records of survey, as-built drawings and other maps or exhibits
- Interpret field notes and sketches, assist in downloading and processing conventional and GNSS field data as well as point cloud data from aerial surveying.
- Research boundary and easement record title documents and provide preliminary boundary analysis.
- Understand survey and engineering calculations and provide instructions to field crews
- Experience in interpretation of engineering plans and construction documents
- Interacting professionally and effectively with the client(s) and project managers on CAD-related issues
- Providing ongoing CAD support to field personnel.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation
- Experience with scanning and point cloud data
- CAD-related construction layout experience
- Must possess good verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent attention to detail
- Must be able to prioritize and multi-task effectively under pressure of deadlines
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
