Role and Responsibilities
Create 2-D CAD drawings with the occasional need for isometrics based on notes, specifications, and customer drawings
Ability to think in 3-D from a 2-D perspective
Assist with estimating activities as needed
Participate in staff and job planning meetings to ensure successful jobs and workflow
Perform all other duties as assigned by supervision
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, higher degree a plus
Degree in CAD design or drafting
Experience in refractory a plus
Demonstrated proficiency with math skills (algebra, geometry), including ability to read and interpret plans & drawings
Must be extremely thorough and timely, with strong organizational skills, ability to multitask
Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite (specifically Excel)
Experience with CAD software, preferably AutoCAD
Leadership skills preferred, with ability to develop trust and relationships with customers and other employees; must be able to work independently and with a team
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds, with a maximum single-person lift of 50 pounds.
Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectively.
Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.
Sufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation, which permit the employee to perform routine office duties.
