Responsibilities - Technician:
- Perform multi-point inspection and diagnose malfunction(s)
- Efficiently repair automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air-conditioning, etc., in accordance with dealership standards
- Explain mechanical diagnoses/required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers
- Provide an estimate of the time needed for repairs
- Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs
- Test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Learn new technical information and techniques in training sessions
- Adhere to company regulations and keep abreast of recalls and updates.
- Report any damaged or defective equipment to management.
- Report safety issues to management and ensure a clean working area.
Qualifications/Requirements – Technician:
- Previous automotive preventative maintenance experience
- Previous formal automotive training
- At least 3 years’ experience as a technician
- ASE Certification a plus
- Must have a strong work ethic; independently motivated to produce results with limited influence from others
- Must be a hard worker, someone who works diligently to get tasks done and demonstrates personal characteristics, such as responsibility, dependability, conscientiousness, communication, and teamwork
- The ability to review, analyze, and interpret information, identify problems, and make decisions is important
- Display a commitment to learning new technologies within the rapidly changing automotive industry
- Ability to read, understand, and follow procedures and guidelines
- Commitment to following established safety policies and procedures
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have tools
- Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work
