Job Summary
Teach, develop, and coordinate Auto Body Collision Repair curriculum and equipment to provide students with entry-level employment and continued education in the field of study.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Additional related duties may be assigned.
  1. Coordinate all Auto-body / Collision Repair activities, courses, equipment and instruction at the Stenstrom Center for Career Education 2420 20th Street, Rockford Illinois in alignment with non-credit offerings.
  2. Oversee the implementation of curriculum and activities related to Auto-body / Collision Repair.
  3. Collaborate with multiple non-academic and academic departments to develop class schedules to meet student completion needs, as well as regional employment needs.
  4. Teach Auto-body / Collision Repair courses.
  5. Provide continuous improvement for curriculum through completion of program review processes.
  6. Collaborate with regional employers to develop and incorporate feedback from an Advisory Committee to ensure that the Auto-body / Collision Repair program addresses equity and access, as well as relevancy and innovation.
  7. Assist with recruitment, screening, recommending, training, and evaluating instructors for Auto-body / Collision Repair courses.
  8. Maintain inventory and replacement cycle of instructional materials and equipment for Auto Body Collision Repair courses.
  9. Coordinate to maintain the operational integrity and readiness of equipment and laboratory facilities, including setup, routine maintenance, replacement per lifecycle recommendations, and recommendation for purchase.
  10. Maintain safety procedures at all times.
  11. Attend workshops, training, and meetings related to the program and professional growth.
  12. Maintain student records and submit College-required documents accurately and on time.
  13. Collaborate with college leadership, as well as Marketing and Communication and Student Service staff, on student recruitment, retention, and completion.
  14. Assist in work-based placement (e.g., internships, apprenticeships, post-graduation opportunities).
  15. Perform related duties as assigned.
  16. Regular attendance is expected; Evening hours are required.
  17. Assist adjunct instructors in the classroom and/or labs as needed.
  18. Prioritize assignments and organize work effectively, working with minimal supervision.
  19. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, students, and co-workers.
  20. Use tact and courtesy to establish and maintain professional working relationships.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Auto Body Collision Repair and or a combination of education, training, and tested experience line of work
  • 1-3 years of experience working in the industry with knowledge of both Collision Repair and painting.
  • I-Car Pro Level 1 Non-Structural and Structural training(s) in Auto Collision Repair and
  • Experience including, but not limited to the following: automotive welding, MIG brazing, structural repair, squeeze-type resistance spot welding, and steel and aluminum dent removal.
  • ASE certification within 1 year of hire
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Associate's Degree or higher in Auto Collision Repair/Technology with multiple certificates
  • 3-5 years of experience in teaching or supervision in Auto Body Collision Repair
  • ASE certification in Auto Collision Repair
