Auditor, Gs-511-14 Oig-Wide Only

The incumbent serves as an Auditor in the Quality Integrity Group (QIG). QIG is responsible for conducting internal investigations of OIG personnel and conducting internal quality control reviews, and vulnerability assessments of audit, investigative, inspection, and administrative activities.

Qualifications:

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

**YOU MUST PROVIDE SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION FOR THE BELOW IN YOUR APPLICATION**

Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting.

OR

Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:

A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or

Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.

In addition to meeting the Basic Requirement above, the incumbent must also meet the minimum qualification requirement below: 

You may meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-14 if you possess:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-13) in federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position (see description below).

Specialized Experience for the GS-14:

One year of specialized experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-13 performing the three (3) following duties or work assignments:

1. Applying knowledge of accounting as well as audit standards, techniques, theories, concepts, and practices; designing methodologies to evaluate complex programs, functions, and operations; and making recommendations to improve compliance, efficiency, and/or effectiveness of operations.
2. Writing clear and accurate reports and providing oral presentations to communicate objectives, conclusions, findings, and recommendations.
3. Developing and lead high performing and motivated teams.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

The quality of your experience will be measured by the extent to which you possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs). 1. Knowledge of accounting and mastery of auditing and in auditing and evaluating techniques, theories, concepts and practices.
2. Ability to understand, interpret, apply, and assess the application of professional standards, laws, and regulations.
3. Ability to design methodologies to evaluate complex programs, functions, and operations.
4. Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to write clear and accurate reports and skill in dealing tactfully and diplomatically with officials at various organizational levels.
5. Ability to effectively and independently analyze and communicate sound and authoritative recommendations on highly complex and sensitive issues or policies.
6. Ability to develop and lead high performing, motivated teams.
7. Ability to make sound technical and administrative judgments under pressure to meet challenging deadlines.
