This position is responsible for the coordination of audits conducted by external auditors and federal/state regulatory teams. The Audit Coordinator also conducts branch audits and prepares reports of those findings. The Audit Coordinator serves as the secretary for the Audit Committee. In addition, the employee in this position is responsible for maintaining reports to track previous audit findings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThis position performs the following duties, including but not limited to:
- Conducts in-branch audits to check for compliance with procedures outlined in the Branch Operations Manual.
- Works as liaison with internal, state and federal auditors/examiners during scheduled audits.
- Update FDICIA narratives and perform FDICIA control testing in accordance with external audit firm guidelines.
- Assist on internal audits including determining audit scope, performing audit testing, audit confirmations, and other audit functions as needed.
- Manage the outsourced internal audit plan including ensuring the annual risk assessment, audit plan and audit schedule are completed timely.
- Coordinates gathering and providing requested documents/information for audits and examinations.
- Maintains audit tracking reports to ensure that exam findings are documented and that timely responses are provided by management.
- Prepares information for Audit Committee meetings which includes reports of audit results/findings.
- Serves as secretary for the Audit Committee.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or other finance-related area
- Three to five years of similar or related experience.
- Previous experience in financial institution preferred.
- Above-average analytical, mathematical, human relations and communications skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Travel to all branches to conduct branch audits or for required off-site training.
- Above average Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word and Outlook
