About the Role
Teaching experience preferred, not required. We are seeking an experienced Audio Engineer to join our education team as a Substitute Instructor! Must have experience in Pro Tools, Logic, and audio technology for studio and live applications as your primary focus is instructing this to the next generation of Audio Engineering professionals.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Instructing Pro Tools, Logic, and a variety of software plug-ins
- Teaching practical hands-on methods for using mixing consoles, patch bays, microphones, wireless systems, and outboard gear
- Focus on student creativity to achieve high-quality results with class audio projects
- Inspire and support students as they progress through our audio program
- Contribute to the fine-tuning of the curriculum with the rest of the education team
- Create a safe, supportive, creative, and engaging environment for students
Preferred Skills or Experience
- 3+ Years of field-related experience is required per state and accreditation requirements
- 2+ years of working experience with Pro Tools, and Logic
- Instructors shall have completed postsecondary training in either a state-licensed school or a college accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education plus one year of job experience related to the subjects taught; or have completed a minimum of three years of successful job experience directly related to the subjects taught
- Studio and/or live production experience with mixing consoles, microphones, and patch bays
- Strong understanding of a variety of audio production types: studio recording/mixing (multiple genres), live music, corporate A/V, and commercial installation
- Passionate about inspiring, mentoring, and helping others learn
- Experienced with advanced recording arts and sciences, including audio for video
- Understands mixing consoles and mixing control surfaces
- Knowledgeable of MIDI workflows for music production
- A firm grasp on signal flow for the studio, live, commercial, and residential audio applications
- Wide knowledge of audio equipment, acoustics, system designs, and installations
- Flexible schedule
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3-5 years field related experience OR a diploma in a related field
The salary range for this role is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to physically access and navigate each department at our facility.
