The Opportunity:
Student Legal Services is looking for an Attorney I to join their team! The Attorney provides legal advice and representation to UCF students in specific areas of the law including, but not limited to, landlord/tenant matters, uncontested divorces, name changes, step-parent adoptions, consumer (debt defense, chapter 7 bankruptcies, credit reports, etc.). The Attorney will develop, produce, and market educational materials to further the legal education of the student body. The Attorney will participate in presentations of materials in lectures, meetings, orientations, and other occasions as needed.
Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
Law degree (L.L.B or J D.) and must be a member of the Florida Bar or become a member within twelve months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years of experience, preferably in the areas of landlord/tenant, family, and consumer law.

Responsibilities:
- Court representation in certain areas of the law such as landlord/tenant, debt defense, name changes, uncontested divorces, Chapter 7 Bankruptcies, suits for money damages under $8,000.00, and sealing and expunging criminal records.
- Legal advice and brief services, such as review contracts, engage in negotiations, draft letters, wills, powers of attorney, etc.
- Other communication and marketing, such as updating the website and social media to ensure continued relevancy, tabling at student events, creating legal brochures, and designing and offering presentations on different legal topics.
