The job assists leadership with development, promotion, and standardization of designated programs with the assigned service line. Manages and coordinates high-end access navigation and education services. Collaborates with department leaders and committees in identification and analysis of clinic quality issues and facilitates resolution of these issues. Works with sports medicine leadership and specialty programs to market and share programs/outcomes with referral sources.

Education
Required - Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training.
Preferred - Master's degree in Athletic Training.
Work Experience
Required - 3 years of experience as an athletic trainer.
Certifications
Required - Current athletic trainer license in state of practice.
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
Preferred - Athletic Training Board Certification (BOC).
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications, including working knowledge of Epic.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service through telephone and personal contact with all customer groups including physicians, nurses, administrators, and colleagues.

Job Duties
  • Identifies and supports sports medicine and Athletic Training programming needs via standardizing development, implementation, and evaluation of all new and existing programs.
  • Researches and identifies best billing and documentation practices for programs and communicates with revenue cycle teams to ensure proper billing for secondary insurance policies.
  • Facilitates and collaborates with program experts to market to physicians/departments both internal and external to the company.
  • Manages and maintains assigned databases and outcomes tools.
  • Evaluates financial and clinical outcomes of programs.
  • Prepares age and prognosis appropriate prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation under the supervision of the physician.
  • Coordinates the sports medicine education and treatment of corresponding patient population within sports medicine services, functioning as a liaison between stakeholders across the system.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.
Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue, but exposure or potential for exposure may occur.
The incumbent works with patients who have known or suspected communicable diseases and may enter isolation rooms. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.
Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
