Travel Insured International (TII), a Crum & Forster company, is hiring a Senior Training Manager in our Human Resources Team in Glastonbury, CT. Travel Insured International is a leading travel insurance provider with more than 25 years in business. As a key component of our Specialty Business Unit (SBU), within the Accident & Health division of Crum & Forster, TII provides travel protection plans to help each individual travel confidently. The Senior Training Manager, TII, will oversee and drive the development of a comprehensive Awareness, Education & Training Program for internal and external stakeholders/audiences in support of our strategic pillar, Superior Stakeholder Engagement & Service.

The Senior Training Manager will work closely with the Accident & Health (A&H) HR team, peers, leaders, and business partners at all levels of the organization to deliver our strategic objective. This role will evaluate current processes, recommend, and deliver business and skills-based training which aligns to TII’s strategic goals. This role will work with a variety of mediums and platforms such as in-person, virtual, asynchronous, or blended learning programs, for employees, distribution partners, Travel Advisor and Agency partners and other third-party partners.  This is a hybrid role, with flexibility on days in the office, located in our Glastonbury, CT office. Open to full remote candidates, but travel to CT and NJ will be required.  This role has one direct report.

 

 

What you will do for C&F:

 

  • Lead efforts to assess, design, develop and deliver short and long-term learning strategies and initiatives for identified needs across TII
  • Oversee and deliver employee and partner training enhancements. 
  • Work with leaders and business partners to identify areas where common learning solutions can be leveraged across TII in the areas of Claims, Customer Service, Sales and Account Management, IT, etc.
  • Deliver Training roadmaps for internal and external partners.
  • Manage the creation and development of train-the-trainer tools and modules to prepare subject matter experts to deliver programs across TII.
  • Responsible for the development of TII Training calendar
  • Oversee completion & evaluation reports to determine ROI - how material is being received, success of training efforts, ability to recommend adjustments to material and curriculum based on findings.
  • Pilot learning products, seek feedback, and iterate on solutions to create the best product for the learner.
  • Delivers live, virtual, multimedia and/or blended learning curriculum to meet the technical and skill requirements of employees and business partners.
  • Explore new technologies such as VR/AR/AI on appropriate projects.
  • Partners with C&F Talent Development & Impact on delivering ad hoc employee training sessions or programs.
  • Oversees and ensures that internal project tracking tools are utilized to ensure accurate department reporting.
  • Demonstrate strong mentoring and coaching skills.

  • Drive and role model the A&H culture, values and C&F core competencies within their teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

What you will bring to C&F:

 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a Learning and Development or Training leadership role is required.
  • People Management experience is a plus.
  • Insurance Industry experience is preferred.
  • A Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), Certified Professional Talent Development (CPTD), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential a plus.
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. is required.
  • Experience with variety of content design programs/platforms like Camtasia is preferred.
  • Some travel is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity or where there may not be an existing solution.

  • Exceptional collaboration skills
  • Experience with designing and delivering Sales training.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory and application
  • Working knowledge of instructional design principles across various modalities
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills; ability to execute on plans, drives for results and takes accountability for outcomes.
  • Travel to CT and NJ required - 20%

Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $95,700.00 to a maximum of $159,500.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
