Responsibilities:
- You will be part of our sports medicine team focused on taking care of our athletes and maintaining affiliate relationships. You will provide services to student athletes under the direction of the team physician or by written referral from a physician, and in accordance with state athletic training practice act.
- You will conduct an initial assessment of an athlete's injury or illness to provide emergency or continued care and to determine whether they should be referred to physician for diagnosis and treatment.
- You will need to demonstrate the ability to perform the following functions regarding athletic injuries: prevention, assessment, treatment, first aid, and reconditioning as established by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers (BOC) and the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA).
- The ATC demonstrates proper taping, strapping, bracing, and fitting of athletic equipment.
- You will utilize effective communication skills to involve athlete, family, and others as necessary and appropriate in plan of care within HIPPA guidelines
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree with major coursework in kinesiology/biomechanics; exercise physiology; and prevention and care of athletic injuries
- Certification by the Board of Certification of the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification and appropriate state licensure that is current and in good standing required.
- Must be CPR and/or AED certified.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with coaches, student-athletes, parents, patients, and staff.
