POSITION SUMMARY
Provide "athletic training services" to athletes under the direction of the team physician and in accordance with state athletic training practice act. The Athletic Trainer manages day-to-day Sports Medicine operations for FC Dallas Academy. In this capacity, the Athletic Trainer provides injury prevention strategies, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for Players' medical problems. This role will work in collaboration with the Organization's Athletic Trainers, and high-performance staff and under the direction and supervision of FC Dallas' Chief Medical Officer
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages the healthcare and safety of Players including, but not limited to; first aid/emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, application of appropriate modalities, development of rehabilitation and injury-risk reduction programs, as well as conducting rehabilitation and making medical referrals, including all pertinent best practices with regards to the care of minors.Provide superior care in the prevention, recognition, evaluation, and immediate care and reconditioning of athletic injuries.
- Demonstrate good communication skills with athletes, athletic directors, coaches, physicians, and parents regarding athlete's playing status and ability to return to competition. All communication must be bound by confidentiality.
- Maintain a complete and up to date roster of Player health and participation records in the League-provided electronic medical recod (EMR) system.
- WORK EXPERIENCE
- Preferred: At least 2 years Job-related experience
EDUCATION
- Required: Four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Preferred: NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer
- Required: Licensed in State of Texas as an Athletic Trainer Upon Hire
- Required: BLS/CPR thru the American Heart Association Upon Hire
