The Astoria Column is Hiring!

The Astoria Column is looking to welcome an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Part-Time Associate at the Column Gift Shop. This is a year-round position.

As an associate, you will play an integral role in creating a memorable experience for our visitors while working in a fun and exciting environment. If you enjoy really engaging with people from all over the world, this is the perfect position!

Responsibilities

· Provide excellent customer service to visitors, assisting them with their inquiries and purchases

· Maintain a clean and organized shop

· Operate the cash register and process transactions accurately

· Show knowledge not only of the product, but the Column and Astoria itself

· Assist with daily shop duties, including receiving and unpacking merchandise shipments

Requirements

· Prior retail or customer service experience is preferred, but not required

· Friendly communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, or the opposite during the off season

· Comfortable with an iPad point-of-sale set up.

· Weekend availability is a MUST

· Reliable transportation is a MUST
