UFG is currently seeking an Assumed Reinsurance Claims Operations Analyst who is an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who functions as part of a team that interfaces with internal and external customers and leadership throughout various organizations.The individual will support our corporate strategy and be responsible for administrative oversite of the MGA's/TPA's claims programs, Assumed Reinsurance cedant audits, claims processes, key performance indicators, contractual claims agreements, reporting, process improvements and internal controls.
Responsibilities:
- Anticipate and identify variable risk on cessions.
- Review and analyze claims related to complex treaty programs.
- Strong knowledge of coverage and contract issues.
- Understanding of catastrophe claims, modeling, and reporting.
- Participate in and provide written and verbal feedback during claims audits.
- Recognition of claim frequency and severity and its impact on a portfolio.
- Ability to accurately value claim exposures and recognize reserve adequacy.
- Develop and maintain standardized reinsurance reports required for monitoring results.
- Prepare analysis and commentary on key business drivers related to Assumed Reinsurance.
- Maintain effective internal controls, support internal and external audits, and regulatory examinations.
- Work with related entities in driving process improvements and automation efforts.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in risk management/insurance or business-related field.
Certifications/Designations:
- Employees are expected to participate in continuing education throughout their careers.
- certification AIC, ARe, CPCU, SCLA, preferred.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in Assumed or Direct claims.
- Claims management/audit experience preferred.
